Byung-Wook Kim has been working as a director, Digestive Disease Center, Incheon St. Mary’s Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea and Professor of Medicine for 10 years. He received MD degree in 1990 in The Catholic University of Korea and certified with Korean board of internal medicine in 1995. After a fellowship in gastroenterology in 1999, he appointed in Incheon St. Mary’s Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea. He finished post-doctoral fellowship in Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, USA from 2004 to 2006.

He received a lot of awards such as Young Scientist Award in 13th European Helicobacter Study Group International Workshop, Rome, Italy, in 2000, Best Article of the Year Award in Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Motility, Gwangju, South Korea in 2000, and Best Poster Presentation Awards in DW 2013, Orlando, FL, USA.

He also funded from a lot of organizations such as 2005 Centocor American Gastroenterology Association International Research Fellowship in Gastrointestinal Inflammation and Immunology, and 2013 National Strategic Coordinating Center for Clinical Research Fund over $500,000. He authored over 100 SCI-indexed articles and working as an editorial board member in various scientific journals.
