Mauro Cives, MD

Dr. Mauro Cives obtained his medical degree and specialization degree in Medical Oncology from the University of Bari, Italy. From 2013 to 2016 Dr. Cives worked as Research Associate within the Neuroendocrine Program of the Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Tampa (FL, USA). Currently, he is Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Human Oncology, University of Bari. Dr. Cives’ work focuses on the preclinical and clinical evaluation of innovative treatments for neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). In 2016 and 2017, Dr. Cives was awarded by the “Umberto Veronesi” Foundation and the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) for the project “Genetic evolution of small non-functioning pNETs: from bench to bedside” and “CAR-T cells for GEP-NETs” respectively.
