Ariel Halevy, MD, FACS

Prof. Halevy is a Full Professor of Surgery at the Tel-Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine, Chairman of the Division of Surgery at Assaf Harofeh Medical Center (an academic medical center affiliated to the Sackler School of Medicine) and a board-certified Israeli Surgeon. He completed a fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery (two and half years) at the Hammersmith Hospital, Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London, under Prof. L. H. Blumgart and a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Milano Cancer Center.
In 1990, he introduced laparoscopic surgery to Israel training more the 50 Israeli surgeons in the technique of laparoscopic surgery. He is the author or co-author of around 190 scientific publications in main scientific journals including Annals of Surgery, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, and Gastric Cancer. His main fields of research are Laparoscopic Surgery, Surgical Oncology (GIST, Gastric Cancer, Colon Cancer, Breast Cancer), and Parathyroid Surgery.
