Dr. Yoshikawa actively involved in many clinical trials of Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG). He reviewed many protocols as a board member and is working as a vice chairman of the protocol review committee. He is a research secretariat of quality of life in JCOG0912, a phase III trial comparing open and laparoscopic distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer and is a primary investigator (PI) of JCOG-1104, a phase III trial comparing the term of S-1 adjuvant chemotherapy after gastric cancer surgery. He also involved in many clinical trials by other groups. He is a PI of several phase II studies of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and perioperative care of gastric cancer. His research focusing on gastric cancer covers surgical metabolism, biomarkers, and clinical research on junctional cancer, surgery, perioperative care, and chemotherapy.
